Braunstone United Reformed Church has a rich and meaningful heritage that traces its roots back to the Churches of Christ. Our story in Braunstone begins in 1940 with the condemnation of the Church in Andrewes Street, near the centre of Leicester, following a bombing raid during World War 2. The building was sold and plans made to move to the Braunstone Estate where the church already had a Sunday School meeting in Cort Crescent. The church moved to a temporary building on its present site in 1950 whilst the current building was constructed, opening in 1960.
